Adsense Ban Reasons...

Banned from Adsense but not sure why? Well, let us look into the various possible reasons. It is important that you get to know all those reasons that get you banned for, though if you are already banned, it is a bit too late. But going through this helps in the sense that if you do feel that you committed none of the possible 'sins', you could atleast ask for clemency.

Most often, publishers who get banned from Adsense receive the mail that their account is banned for 'invalid clicks'. This however is a very generic term and includes a wide variety of reasons. The following is a possible set of reasons to get banned from Adsense

Illegal Clicking
This is the mistake that most of the newbies do. Though not all of them might explicitly click on the ads sitting at their home computer, a click is said to be illegal, if Google suspects that either you or somebody else clicks on the advertisements with the pure intention to generate money. This most often is the reason, when Google accounts a lot of clicks coming from one particular IP. But, this clause has a loophole. Your competitor might actually be clicking on your ads just to get you banned. But beware not to employ this fraudulent practice yourself by clicking on your compeitor's website. Google actually verifies the IP from where the click is coming from. So, if you are not banned still, you could actually get yourself banned if Google suspects that it was you who was clicking the ads on the other publisher's website.

Code Change
When you opt for a particular adsense format, be it for linked unit or for Firefox and Adsense referrals, Google gives you the readymade code. All that you should do is paste this code in your webpage. Modification of any sort, even a single comma can make you lose your account.

Persisting Source page display
It can happen that you employ frames of sort, whereby when the visitor clicks on your ad, the destination webpage is only displayed on one frame, while the remaining continues to be your webpage. This is strictly against the Terms of Service for Adsense. Make sure you have employed this on your webpage.

Distorting Destination
The destination url that your webpage redirects your visitor to should be absolutely the same as what the Adwords advertiser pays the amount for. If by any method, you succeed in redirecting the visitor to another page or present a distorted view of the destination page, you stand qualified for a ban.

Inappropriate display page
By rule, Adsense ads may not be displayed on Error pages, Thank You pages, Chat pages, Emails, and on any other page where there is no actual value added content. This is a problem with publishers who make MFA(Made for Adsense) webpages. In the enthusiasm to get their ads the maximum coverage, they might end up displaying ads on these pages and eventually get banned.

Inappropriate Adsense access
The click should be registered only as one directly from the website. It might happen that you try providing a link to a user, which when clicked directly redirects him to an adwords advertiser page through your adsense ad. This is technically registered as a click, but practically not. This gets you banned as well.

Illegal indexing
You are not supposed to cache your ads and generate clicks from them. This happens when you are editing an existing page with Adsense on an editor. The ads get stored as an iframe, and if you generate clicks from this, there is a risk of getting banned.

Beg for clicks
How often have you seen websites requesting their visitors to 'visit' their customers. This is highly looked against by Google. This is usually done by websites offering free content and requesting visitors to favor them for the offer. This is one of the major reasons for getting banned.

Illegal relation
You can also be banned for being associated with a banned account. Possibly you were already banned and have got into the membership again, or purchased a website that was banned for illegal activity. But there is a lot of speculation on this. Not everything is clear. It can be that Google only bans you if you purchased website A of Mr.X who made invalid clicks on A. But you might not be banned if you purchased website B, again of Mr.X, but which Google thinks is a legitimate site, but still banned because the account of the publisher was banned. However it is advisable not to purchase a website if it has any bad history.
