Where to find audience

"Build targetted traffic" is one mission that every webmsater goes in search of. But how do you know where to find that audience from. If your is a new innovative website, who can you target your publicity at to get the actual targets?

These are some questions that you need to answer to be able to solve the puzzle to build traffic to your site. And to answer this, you need to do a lot of Googling to realize who your targets are going to be, and how you are going to target them. However, this said, it is not a difficult one to understand either.

Firstly, even as you make your site, you need to know, who is likely to buy your products. Let us say you sell headphones on your website. Now, your task is to find out who your targetted audience is. Since, computers are used almost everywhere and also music is listened by people of all age groups, it is not advisable to target one age group alone. Because, you might miss out on other potential buyers as well.

Hence, now make out other aspects of headphones that make people to buy it. Firstly, it is a device to transmit music from a computer. Secondly, unlike a speaker, it does not create disturbance to the surrounding. Thirdly, it can also be used for voice chat. There are a lot more, but we shall restrict to these points alone.

Now, combining the three points, you will find that the product shall be bought by someone, who needs to listen to music in a quiet environment, and also possibly chats through the internet. So, such a commodity is probably used in a public place or at home to chat. Now, chatting is predominantly done by the youngsters. Also, it is those at offices who listen to songs from a headphone.

Thus jotting, you find that these are two possible groups of people who can buy your products. There can be a lot of overlapping between the two and that is good news as they are all the more likely to buy your product as they have double the advantage over it.

Now, for marketing your website, you need to not only know the above, but also where to find that audiene who are not presently in the group you mentioned, but likely to get there.This is because targeting the product at a voice-chatroom might not help, as most of them are likely to already possess one. Instead, you need to target the text chatrooms and educate them about the fun of voice chatting. And here you introduce your product. This might not be your strategy of promotion, but this is just an idea to show how to target and where.
