Adwords Video ad update
Like I had told you before, I had contacted Adwords regarding the exact pricing structure of Video ads. Here is the reply from Laurean of the Google Adwords team.
VIDEO ADS
Video ads are priced like any other AdWords ad; you choose the price
you're willing to pay. You can choose to pay for your video ad on
either a content-targeted cost-per-click basis or on a site-targeted
cost-per-thousand-impression basis. To directly address your question,
when paying on a cost-per-click basis, you'll be paying for
clickthroughs leading users to your website, not paying for clicks on the opening
image or play button.
Still, video ads are currently available as part of a phased release
for advertisers in a limited number of locations - US, Canada and Japan
(and several small Caribbean and Latin American countries). If video ads are
available for your location, you will see the option to create a video
ad when creating new ads within a Standard Edition AdWords account.
Please note that if the option to create video ads is available to you,
you may only be able to target them to a limited number of locations
and/or languages. We appreciate your patience as we extend this ad
format to a wider set of advertisers.
