How to start affiliate marketing

It is not a farce that partnering affiliate websites can make you a lot of money. But ask anybody who is a couple of months into this business and they are more likely not to tell you the same. This is because, for most of them who are new into affiliate marketing, they are there just to make some quick money. And they cant stand to work for earning their part. And working, for some is spamming in message boards or making a five-page site on the product, expecting people to find that page over the billions already available, and on top of that make the purchase as well.

Just imagine, how infeasible this looks. How will you even part your money or even your credit card information to someone who you know nothing about. And do not expect your visitors to be different in any way. Hence the crux of affiliate site building is to build trust among your visitors. It is this trust that wins,not only their purchase, but also a repeat visit for another purchase.

Starting off with affiliate marketing

After you read through the article on Choosing the right affiliate product, it is time to strategise on how you are building your site around it. When you sign to websites like Share-a-Sale or SFI, you find a lot of products that you think you can market. But do not strightaway start off with all that. Choose one product from the list you form after you read the Choosing the right affiliate product; that one, which you know the most about from that list.

To keep the discussion going, let us take an example of "affiliate network website" as such. In this case, my product from
Share-a-Sale shall be E-Wealth, one of the network's affiliate partners. Now, think about ways in which you can generate interest about this product. Simply announcing the grand affiliate product will not help. Visitors should have visited hundreds of this kind before.

So, in order to get the visitor signup for your product, you should work a little bit more on the product. Research the product a little bit by visiting their website. Here, we find that E-Wealth is nothing but a free-for-all forums. Not a difficult thing to get the visitors to signup. But remember that explicitly asking them to sign for the products does not work. In order to achieve the targetted action, you need to start off with talking to your visitor about affiliate marketing in general. Tell them how it is different from other forms of money making. Deeper down, impress upon him the necessity to talk to other affiliates in the business. How can he benefit from such a talk? Like, you will get to know about the programs that actually pay, you can talk to other affiliates of a particular network, say
Share-a-Sale who have not received their pay. Sometimes these networks have their representatives talking on some of these forums, so that you can directly talk to them about your doubts.

When you talk about so many advantages of signing up in a forum like E-Wealth, the visitor is likely to think it over. And if like in this case, it is free, do not forget to mention that one as well. These are the little things that influence the human mind into looking into what someone is talking about. Your visitor might ultimately end up becoming your customer.

Now, this was only a simple example. But there are several other products that requires a lot more effort. Look into
Share-a-Sale and you will find accessories like jewellery that are on affiliate sale. Definitely, these products require a lot of website building effort. But, you should also remember that the return on your investment in such cases such as jewellery is high too.
